Minutes of the AGM, held at Keele University on 21st August 2007
Present: Richard Waller, Pat Cossey, Craig Slawson, Don Steward, John Reynolds, Ian Stimpson, Vicky Tunstall, Sue Lawley

1 Minutes 2005 AGM: Agreed with minor amendment
2 Matters arising: None not covered elsewhere on the agenda
3 Officers' Reports: Chairman's report – Richard tabled a report. Vice-chairman – no report. Treasurer – Pat reported that the change of signatories form had been processed – signatories are now Ian, Pat, Don, Richard and Sue. The current account has £2114.14, and the deposit account £106.50. Website – now within SER, but with its own URL. Secretary- not keeping up with Local Development Framework process, either for SWT or for SRIGS.
4 Election of officers The election of the following officers was agreed:

5 SGAP Richard had met Paul Wilcox of Staffordshire County Council on 9th July and agreed that the SGAP partnership had lost momentum. Paul is keen for the SGAP to be taken on by SRIGS.
The Group felt that it should take on the SGAP, but that the approach needed a lot of thought. A national GAP is likely to emerge soon and this might offer guidance. Sue also felt that the Dudley GAP offered a good model for development of the SGAP.
6 Membership of the Group Christine Blackmore and Rosie Duncan to be invited to next meeting.
7 Churnet Geotrail The bid for funding to Staffordshire Aggregates Levy Grant Scheme had been successful. Richard and Ian will lead on the project. Field visits to be arranged ASAP.
8 West Midlands Geodiversity Partnership 4 meetings have been held so far. John has circulated minutes.
9 Dudley Rock and Fossil Fair Richard asked for help with staffing the stand.
10 UK RIGS Further funding has been received for education work for two new sites, one in Northumberland and one on Wenlock Edge. Four teacher training sessions will be held and the handbook will be re-done. The AGM will be held at Liverpool John Moores University on 3rd Nov.
AOB – Hamps and Manifold Trail – had been featured in UK RIGS newsletter and in 'Earth Heritage'. Thanks were recorded to Shaun Rimmer for putting signs in and to Bob Middleton for his positive input. Richard to write to Shaun, Bob and John Mortimer with thanks. Sue to provide pdf stationery to committee members.
